Neil Ruiz
Welcome to my page: As an operations officer and leader in the U. S. Army, I experienced the impact listening and leading had on individual performance. A commitment to Listening allows us to tap into our own authentic “genius.” I bring this commitment into my life and to my work.

Education and Learning
Neil graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2007 with a B. S. in Human Geography. He completed 5-years of military service as an Army Air Defense Captain, with a 2012 tour of duty in the Republic of South Korea. After his return, Neil leveraged his military experience to work in the field of leadership development through training, studies, and practices in transformative learning and leadership.
In 2014, Neil joined Bhavana Learning Group as a program supervisor to deliver an executive leadership course at Rutgers University, Business School in Newark. The course provided students with a laboratory for leadership development based on research and designs from our own “contemplative learning” methods and practices.
As a Buddhist practitioner since 2017, he has also studied and trained in Eastern wisdom and Buddhist psychology that underlies our contemplative learning and meditation. Neil is of Ecuadorian descent and speaks fluent Spanish. He also enjoys running and ran the 2015 NYC marathon.
